The musical ensemble known as "L'Estate di San Martino" hails from Perugia and possesses a long-standing history, which, unfortunately for almost 30 years would leave no official traces, apart from a single song included in a rare promotional single.

The formation originated in 1975 with the aim of providing musical support for a theatrical performance entitled "Alete." Their musical style was mainly based on acoustic guitars, flute and percussion.

In 1978, the group participated in the Centocittà contest, reaching the finals in Capri and earning the opportunity to record a single on 45 rpm vinyl for the RCA label. However, the single was released only in promotional form and was joined by another track by a different group on the opposite side.

Over the next few years, the lineup underwent stabilizations as new musicians joined and helped diversify their sound, introducing instruments such as keyboards, electric guitar and drums. As a result, the group expanded their live performances, mainly in Umbria, presenting shows based on unified musical concepts and extended songs with large instrumental sections.

"Alder" was released in 2006, containing a recording of a full concert held in Perugia in 1983. This event gave the group the opportunity to reunite for a series of concerts and resume recording activity, which continues to the present day.

L'ensemble musicale noto come "L'Estate di San Martino" proviene da Perugia e possiede una storia di lunga data, la quale, purtroppo per quasi trent’anni non lascerà tracce ufficiali, a parte un unico brano incluso in un singolo promozionale raro.

La formazione ebbe origine nel 1975 con l'obiettivo di fornire il supporto musicale a uno spettacolo teatrale intitolato "Alete". Il loro stile musicale si basava principalmente su chitarre acustiche, flauto e percussioni.

Nel 1978, il gruppo partecipò al concorso Centocittà, raggiungendo le finali a Capri e guadagnandosi l'opportunità di registrare un singolo su vinile da 45 giri per l'etichetta RCA. Tuttavia, il singolo fu pubblicato solo in forma promozionale e venne affiancato da un'altra traccia di un diverso gruppo sulla facciata opposta.

Nel corso degli anni successivi, la formazione subì stabilizzazioni con l'ingresso di nuovi musicisti che contribuirono a diversificare il loro suono, introducendo strumenti come tastiere, chitarra elettrica e batteria. Di conseguenza, il gruppo ampliò le sue performance dal vivo, principalmente nell'Umbria, presentando spettacoli basati su concetti musicali unificati e brani prolungati con ampie sezioni strumentali.

Nel 2006 viene rilasciato il presente "Alder", il quale contiene una registrazione di un concerto integrale tenutosi a Perugia nel 1983. Questo evento diede l'opportunità al gruppo di riunirsi per una serie di concerti e di riprendere l'attività discografica, che prosegue fino ai giorni attuali.

This might be the least folky of the Wobbler releases and I wasn't sure about it at all. After a few listens however I'm loving the inventiveness and the endless melodies, all driven along by Kristian Hultgren's wonderful percussive bass. PartTimeZombie
